Kahua means “foundation” in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi.


We believe in building from the ground up: intentionally, respectfully, and with integrity.

Leonani Puailihau

Our Founder

Leonani is the founder of Kahua Strategies LLC and a Native Hawaiian strategist, storyteller, and trusted connector. Her career spans across community leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and cultural grounded strategy, with deep experience bringing businesses and communities together.

Rooted in ʻike kupuna and a deep aloha for her home, Hawaiʻi, Leonani helps organizations listen deeply, build trust, and turn community insight into meaningful action. Her work guides organizations to engage, invest, and grow in Hawaiʻi with authenticity, integrity, and purpose.
